What makes Wishd special?
Twenty people chip in. Everywhere else, you get a number.
That's how group gifting usually goes, and the strange thing is nobody minds. But every one of those people had something they'd have said out loud if they'd been standing in front of you.
Wishd is where that goes. Each gift stays wrapped until you open it, one at a time — a face, a voice, a few words meant only for you. By the end you've been told, by everyone, why you matter.
Is Wishd free?
Creating a Wishd, and sending a reel or message, is free. On a cash gift, one Wishd fee is added on top at checkout so the full amount you chose reaches the recipient — a £20.00 gift costs £21.08. There's no charge for moving money to a bank, holding a fund or leaving it unclaimed, and no tip screen.
Do I need an account to send something?
Only to organise a Wishd. Gifters send cash, reels and messages from the organiser's link with no account, and recipients don't sign up either.
Can I take part without giving money?
Yes, and it's free — reels and messages are gifts in themselves, and plenty of Wishds are made entirely of them.
When is my card charged, and where does the money sit?
Cash gifts are held in Wishd's account at Stripe until the recipient claims them. If the event is more than 30 days away your card is saved on Stripe and charged 30 days before — for exactly the total you were shown, with emails when you set it up and three days before; within 30 days you pay at checkout. On the day, the recipient's reveal link opens a secure claim and the money reaches their bank once they verify with Stripe.
Is it safe to send money?
Payments run through Stripe, one of the world's largest processors. Wishd never sees or stores your card details.
Who holds the money?
Stripe. Contributions sit in Wishd's account at Stripe, an FCA-authorised electronic money institution, until the fund is claimed, then move to the recipient's own Stripe account.
When does the recipient see it all?
On the event day, so everything lands at once.
Who sees what I've written or recorded?
Your reel and message go to the recipient and to whoever set up the Wishd. Other gifters never see them — only who's taken part.
As an organiser, can I control whether the recipient sees individual contributions or just a total?
Yes. When you set up a group gift you choose whether the recipient sees each contribution and who gave it, or just the total, with the messages and reels included either way.
Can I receive the gift fund to purchase a physical gift?
Yes. If you would rather buy something physical, you can have the fund paid out to you before the event date, then still reveal the messages and reels on the day.
What if someone sends something inappropriate?
Report it — the recipient, organiser or sender can report any reel or message, which hides it instantly for everyone and sends it to us to review. Before the event the organiser can also delete content directly, and on a child's Wishd the guardian previews and removes anything first. After the event, reporting is the only route, and all reels are deleted 30 days later.
What if only one person takes part?
That's still a Wishd — one gift, reel or message unlocks on the day just the same.
Is there a limit on how many people can contribute?
No. Invite as many people as you like, whether that's three close friends or an entire office. Every gift, reel and message lands in the same place and unlocks together on the day.
Can I change things after sharing the link?
You can edit your own reel or message until the event date (or until the organiser releases the fund), and the organiser can move the date. Once gifts are charged and the event is within 30 days the date can only move earlier — bringing it to today sends the reveal now. On the day, everything unlocks and changes stop.
What if the recipient never claims it?
We remind them at 10, 21 and 27 days. If it's never claimed, everything returns to the original cards after 30 days — the gift in full, plus the Wishd fee less the payment costs already incurred, with nothing kept for holding it. If a claim was started but not finished, we hold it a little longer before refunding, so a claim in progress isn't cut off.
How long are the reels kept?
Reels, messages and thank-you videos are kept for 30 days after the event date, then permanently deleted. There's no reminder before that, so save anything you want within those 30 days.
The cash they want. The moment they'll remember.
