Wishd (wishd.co.uk) is a gifting platform that lets people pool money and personal reels for any occasion. By using Wishd you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Wishd is operated by Wishd Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17446647. Registered office: 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. In these terms, "Wishd", "we" and "us" mean Wishd Ltd.
You must be 18 or over to create a Wishd, contribute money, or hold an account. Wishds can be set up for recipients of any age; where the recipient is under 18, a parent or guardian creates and manages the Wishd on their behalf.
You can create an account with your email and a password, or sign in with Google. By signing in with Google you authorise Wishd to receive your name and email address from Google. Keep your login details secure and don't share your account.
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By contributing to a Wishd you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method for the amount you choose. Contributions are held in Wishd's Stripe account until the gift fund is claimed. Where the recipient claims the fund, it becomes claimable on the Wishd date. Where the organiser is buying the gift, the organiser can release the fund from 30 days before the Wishd date, once contributions have been paid. For a gift set up more than 30 days ahead, you authorise Stripe to save your card and charge it 30 days before the Wishd date, for the total shown to you at the time. Wishd never holds your card details. All payments are in GBP.
We charge one Wishd fee on each contribution, which covers running the service: secure payments, storing reels, and delivering the reveal. It's added on top of your contribution, so the recipient receives the full amount you intended, and it's the same whichever card you use. It's shown to you clearly before you confirm. Example: on a £25.00 contribution the Wishd fee is £1.34, so £26.34 is charged to your card and the recipient receives £25.00.
You can send a reel and message without any money. There are no fees of any kind on these.
On the Wishd date we email the recipient their reveal link, and opening it gives them a secure claim link; if the reveal isn't opened, the claim link is sent with our first reminder. Where the organiser is buying the gift, the organiser releases the fund from their dashboard. The recipient's email address is set when the Wishd is created and can't be changed afterwards, since it's where the reveal and claim links are sent; if it was entered incorrectly, cancel and recreate the Wishd, or contact us at hello@wishd.co.uk. Claiming requires bank verification through Stripe Connect. Until a gift is claimed the funds are held in Wishd's own Stripe account; when the recipient claims, Stripe Connect transfers them to that person's own connected account, from which they reach their bank. Funds must be claimed within 30 days of the Wishd date; unclaimed funds are returned to gifters, as set out below.
Claiming closes the fund. Contributions can't be accepted after that point. If a payment was still in progress when the fund was claimed, it isn't taken — or, if it had already gone through, it is refunded to the contributor. Reels and messages already recorded still reach the recipient, and the contributor and organiser are free to arrange a gift between themselves.
If a gift hasn't been claimed, we send reminders 10, 21 and 27 days after the Wishd date. If it's still unclaimed 30 days after the Wishd date, we refund every gifter automatically to their original payment method: the gift in full, plus the Wishd fee less the payment costs already incurred in processing it, which can't be recovered once a payment has been made. We don't deduct anything for holding the funds.
Before the Wishd date, if the organiser deletes the Wishd, every gifter is automatically refunded to their original payment method: the gift in full, plus the Wishd fee less the payment costs already incurred in processing it. The exception is a Wishd whose fund the organiser has already released: the money has gone to the organiser, so the Wishd is closed rather than refunded, and any gift is between you and them. If you've contributed by mistake or been charged twice, contact us at hello@wishd.co.uk before the Wishd date and we'll refund you. On the Wishd date the gift fund becomes the recipient's to claim (or, where the organiser is buying the gift, from 30 days before it, once they release it); from then, contributions can't be refunded to gifters, the one exception being a fund that's never claimed, which is returned to gifters after 30 days (see Unclaimed gifts). Refunds take 5 to 10 working days to appear. Nothing in these terms limits any statutory right, or any other right to a refund, that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
For a Wishd set up on behalf of a child, the parent or guardian who created it can preview and remove any reel or message before the child sees it. Gifters whose reels are removed are emailed and can record again before the Wishd date.
By recording or uploading a reel you confirm it's your own, doesn't infringe anyone's rights, and contains nothing unlawful, harmful, offensive or inappropriate. You grant Wishd a licence to store and deliver your reel solely to provide the gifting experience; we don't use reels for anything else. Reels are stored for 30 days after the Wishd date and then permanently removed. We don't send a separate reminder before that, so please save anything you want to keep within those 30 days. Wishd may remove any reel that breaks these terms.
While you have active Wishds we send service emails you can't opt out of: account verification, contribution confirmations, reveal-ready and claim links, refund notices, reminders about unclaimed gifts and an unopened reveal, and security emails about password or account changes. We don't send marketing emails.
You must not use Wishd for any unlawful purpose, to harass or harm others, to send spam or unsolicited communications, to impersonate another person or to upload malicious content. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
You must not create, upload, send, or share on Wishd any content, or use Wishd for any conduct, that:
The Wishd name, logo and all content on wishd.co.uk are the intellectual property of Wishd and may not be used without our prior written permission.
Your use of Wishd is subject to our Privacy policy which is available at wishd.co.uk/privacy.
Wishd is provided on an as-is basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. To the fullest extent permitted by law Wishd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Wishd in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You can delete your account from your settings. This hides the Wishds you created straight away and, after a 30-day period in which you can reactivate, permanently removes them and their reels. Contributions you've made to other people's Wishds are kept: they belong to those gifts. If any Wishd you're running still holds unclaimed gift funds, you can't delete your account until that's settled: release and claim the funds, or cancel the Wishd to refund the gifters, or contact us at hello@wishd.co.uk. Once that's settled, you can delete. You remain responsible for any obligations that arose before deletion.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of Wishd after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
